The Hilton Austin Airport is looking for a Bartender to provide exceptional service in our busy hotel lobby bar.


Our guests are our most important asset. Involvement, teamwork, and commitment are the values that govern our work. This position provides service of food and beverage in the restaurant/bar area. This role requires you to adhere to the hotel and brand standards. You will also be required to be friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional, always offering our guest a high level of satisfaction. 

  

Essential Responsibilities:

  

1. Responsible for retrieving keys then   setting the bar up and/or closing bar down. This includes stocking the bar with liquor, supplies, cutting and   preparing all garnishes for restaurant/bar usage, etc.


2. Greets and welcomes guests with a smile   at the bar and surrounding tables, suggests specials and particular menu   items.


3. Gives prompt, efficient and correct delivery of order to customer.

 

4. Checks back with the guests periodically to ensure satisfaction.

 

5. Makes sure product is top quality before serving it to the guest.

 

6. Uses suggestive selling techniques.

 

7. Must be completely familiar with all the different kinds of liquor, recipes and   prices of drinks. 


8. Must have Complete knowledge of service   standards for beer, liquor and wine including proper glassware and garnishes.

 

9. Prepares all beverage mixers to recipe.


10. Properly rings up items on guest check   by having thorough knowledge of the MICROS system (or registers.). Making sure that all beverages leaving the   bar are accounted for on a server’s check, as well as own.

 

11. Presentation of guest checks and   collections of all monies for full payment of check.


12. Must be familiar with cash handling/bank   procedures as well as declaring tips according to IRS standards.


13. Follows all RAMP guidelines including procedures   regarding age identification and dealing with intoxicated guests.

 

14. Complete opening and closing side   worksheets assigned by management for each shift.


15. Communicate with guests, supervisors, co-workers in a courteous manner at all times.

 

16. Honors all guest requests—to go out of our   way to accommodate our customer’s special needs remembering that “No” is   never the answer to our guests’ request.  


Other Responsibilities:


1. Attends company orientation and other meetings as required.

2. Adheres to all policies and procedures.

3. Must adhere to all Federal, State and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages. Ramp certification preferred.

4. Is expected to perform any related duty as requested by supervisor.

5. Assist servers, when necessary, on the floor with their tables.

6. Teamwork.

7. Follows safety, security and emergency procedures and rules.

8. Observes proper sanitation and cleanliness procedures.

9. Utilizes protective equipment.

10. Reports accidents, injuries, hazards, near misses, defective equipment, property damage or loss to supervisor.


Physical Demands/Abilities: 

1. Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service.

2. Communicate effectively with guests and coworkers, i.e., memorize the bar and restaurant menu, specials of the day and special promotions, provide information, answer questions, etc. 

3. Use arithmetic to check totals, make change, count bank, etc.

4. Stand and/or walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods.

5. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. 

6. Requires manual dexterity.

7. Work in an environment that is noisy, demanding and physical with fluctuating adverse temperatures.

8. Frequent reaching, twisting, bending, stooping, walking, standing, handling, and smiling.
